Last Sunday's sermon challenged us to move beyond our conceptions of David and Goliath and discover the deeper theological truth at its core. We explored how this narrative isn't primarily about overcoming obstacles or finding courage in difficult circumstances. Rather, it reveals a fundamental gospel truth: God's people need a champion to fight an unbeatable enemy. David wasn't a small boy with lucky aim; he was a strong young man filled with faith-driven vision who understood that the battle belonged to the Lord.

Ultimately, this story points us to Jesus Christ, our true champion who defeated the one enemy none of us can overcome on our own—death itself. When we grasp this reality, everything else we face in life becomes smaller in comparison.

Biblical doctrine should never be separated from responsive doxology, and doxology should never be void of Biblical Doctrine. True worship is a response to divine revelation, a heartfelt expression of awe and gratitude rooted in a deep understanding of God's nature and His redemptive work. Doxology devoid of biblical doctrine becomes empty sentiment, while doctrine divorced from doxology remains sterile and lifeless.
